About Extradition Hub

Extradition Hub is the first global database entirely dedicated to extradition and European Arrest Warrant case law, built around the concrete case.

It provides structured access to case law, legal frameworks and jurisdiction-specific insights, allowing practitioners to navigate extradition and EAW matters starting from requested and requesting State – or from issuing and executing state in case of EAW – in line with the actual dynamics of cross-border proceedings.

Bridging the gap between academic research and legal practice, Extradition Hub combines:

  • curated case law;
  • jurisdiction-based analysis;
  • practical and expert-driven insights.

A global reference point for extradition law

Extradition Hub is designed to serve as a reference tool for lawyers, judges, academics and institutions dealing with extradition and EAW proceedings.

The platform is based on a core premise: extradition law can only be fully understood through a comparative and cross-border perspective.

For this reason, content is organised to reflect the bilateral nature of extradition and EAW proceedings, enabling users to assess legal issues from both jurisdictions involved.

Beyond a database: a curated network of experts

Extradition Hub is not only a database.

It also operates as a curated network of leading practitioners across jurisdictions, with specific experience in extradition and European Arrest Warrant matters.

Through this network, the platform aims to:

  • identify and feature experienced practitioners in each jurisdiction;
  • provide insight into local practice and procedural dynamics;
  • facilitate connections in complex cross-border cases.

Methodology and editorial approach

Content published on Extradition Hub follows a rigorous editorial methodology, inspired by leading international legal directories and academic publications.

Materials are:

  • carefully selected and reviewed;
  • organised by jurisdiction and legal issue;
  • presented with a focus on practical relevance.

The objective is not only to collect decisions, but to make them accessible, comparable and operational for practitioners.

An evolving project

Extradition Hub is an evolving project.

The platform initially focuses on Italy, with the aim of building a structured and reliable foundation based on domestic case law and practice.

Its coverage will progressively expand to include additional jurisdictions through the contribution of a growing network of international lawyers and researchers, with the ambition of becoming the most comprehensive global resource in this field.

Founder

Extradition Hub was founded by Guido Stampanoni Bassi, a criminal lawyer at the Milan Bar and founder and editor of the legal review Giurisprudenza Penale, a widely recognised Italian publication in criminal law.

His practice focuses on criminal law, with significant experience in cross-border matters, including extradition and European Arrest Warrant proceedings.

The project builds on this experience, with the aim of creating a structured and reliable tool for practitioners dealing with complex international cases.
